Inspiration

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

Flying Poetry Friday

Lately I feel a lot like the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland - "No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!". I must rush off to get Wombat up from his nap, but first... since this is just a flying visit...

Bird

It was passed from one bird to another,
the whole gift of the day.
The day went from flute to flute,
went dressed in vegetation,
in flights which opened a tunnel
through which the wind would pass
to where birds were breaking open
the dense blue air -
and there, night came in.

[Pablo Neruda]

And another addition to my ongoing project...

Cupped hollow of grass and lichen,
bracken and bark,
breast-pressed.

Fragile curve of shell and spirit,
speckled, mottled,
nestled.

Secret growth of bone and feather,
eggs of the masked
lapwing.
