G is for... great expectations

I am having trouble with Tricia's blog - The Miss Rumphius Effect - every time I go there my browser crashes and I have to restart the computer. I can't even leave her a comment to say it is happening (or to let her know about my poetry stretching lol. This one wasn't that good an effort, but I did like my sijo(s)?).

As a result, I am not linking directly to this week's poetry stretch instructions, because I have finally got my computer stable enough to post my poem (I hope)! This week's challenge was to write macaronic verse - a poem that uses one or more languages, usually for comic effect. Here's mine (nowhere near as good as the other offerings she received!) but my brain is not working at its best, for obvious reasons :P

The boys are cranky.
They are sick.
Sniffling, snuffling, sneezing.
I am sick too.
Ich bin krank.
God Bless You.

You don't want a photo of us in this condition (trust me!) so here is some gorgeous, gentle green instead.

Can you see the little froggy hiding in the centre of the pumpkin leaf? We counted 5 green frogs on the pumpkin vine yesterday :D

It is still too early here for the Poetry Friday roundup. I shall try to locate the host and do the link later.

I'm sorry you're crashing at my blog! That makes me sad! I wish I knew what was causing it. I don't have videos or music players or anything too heavy on the site. Is this happening at any other blogs or just mine?

Let's see if we can figure this out!

I'm sorry you're "krank." Hope you feel better soon (Gesundheit)!

The green is very welcome--I can't wait until we get to plant again here in Illinois!

Thanks Jennifer - we're off to the doctor today :(

Hi Tricia - I don't know why it is happening. I just tried again and the same thing occurred. There is no problem reading your blog, but when I try and leave a comment, the comment window stays blank and internet explorer stops responding. It has happened with a couple of other blogs (Saints & Spinners too - sorry Farida!) and sites with pop-up windows. It may well be a problem with my system as I am running Vista. Thanks for stopping by and for your concern, though! It just started happening last week. Before that it was fine. I will try one more time now and see what happens. I am actually surprised to find I can leave a comment on my own blog without a problem :D
